“The first full-length modern dance-theatre piece ever created in the UK, “Cruel Garden”
was inspired by the life and works of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca
and was premiered in 5 July 1977 by Ballet Rambert at the Roundhouse in London.
The piece has been revived several times by dance companies in the UK, Germany and USA.

Choreography by Christopher Bruce;
direction and costumes by Lindsay Kemp;
music by Carlos Miranda;
sets by Ralph Koltai.
